Sanding and Oiling the Yoke


Inside the yoke seat must be smooth.

Outside is aesthetics and weatherproofing.

This gallon of boiled linseed oil has been hanging around garages for years!

After a first liberal coat, especially in the hardware holes, I replaced the hardware.

And gave it another liberal coat.

Let it soak.

Wiped it off.

Rubbed it down.

Nice and . . . .

. . . . smo-o-o-o-th!

Well, not quite as smooth as the kitchen table, but it's oiled and ready for a britchen harness and an ivory bow.
