Top Price Paid for 'Ox Cart'

Carul cu Boi
A late nineteenth century Romanian painter’s artwork sold recently in Bucharest, Romania, for EUR 155,000 ($208,109.90 US). Not bad for an ox cart! That makes it one of the top priced artworks ever sold in Romania. The painter's name was Nicolae Grigorescu (1838-1907). The title of the painting was Carul cu Boi, or the Ox Cart.
