I love the anatomy diagrams. Scout is handsome and the dog is cute, too; not to mention the lovely family. So much good info, presented beautifully. May 3, 2012 9:01 AM

I just visited our new single ox. He's a Jersey, is one week old today and is doing quite nicely with his mom. Your blog has inspired me to start with a single instead of a team. I've taken classes at Tillers and am a MODA member, so I have handled cattle before. I think we share an interest in the ox as a companion as well as a draft animal. I love your blog. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Larry ---
I wish you the best with your calf. Yes, the ox can make an excellent companion animal. Keep in touch.

I thought you might be interested in a couple of oxen posts from my blog. The 'More Ox Talk' post describes the ox/human relationship I was talking about. There are a lot of photos linked from the 'Things I Like' post, near the end of the post.
By the way, are you near Roseau?

I have enjoyed your posts on your broadfork blog and all the MODA pictures. I especially liked your juxtaposition of the ox and the anvil.
Yes, we are relatively near Roseau --- about 90 miles.
Are you familiar with the Wordpress blog Friday Night Oxen --- Chuck has a team of Jersey oxen http://108chuck108.wordpress.com/jiggerjolly/
